Types use default WP settings. Do you think it do not match concerning comments? Did you have this working when registering post type outside of Types?
I’m marking this as resolved, as it’s not a bug, but more of a feature request. Like Srdjan wrote, you can change the default status of comments for new post types in the Types editor. Let us know if you need any help.

For my custom post type, I would like comments to be on by default, but they are not. In the meantime, it seems I must enable the display of the comments section toggle and ask my writers to check the box for every custom post they publish.
I would like comments to be on by default, while not displaying the ability to turn comments on/off. Please help!
