• Hi All,

I have a client that will be selling a product, but does not want an e-commerece system set up to achieve their goal. They will be processing the purchase themselves with data they collect from a custom forms simlulating a cart, and info from custom registration fields. They want this to work in the following way.

    1. Custom registration. They need each person who wants to order the product to register for the site via a custom registration form. I can handle that just fine. They will take the information from the registration email and use that to keep their own internal records of registrants and their info.

    2. Order the product. The visitor can go to a product page that will have a custom form allowing them to choose the product and the quantity, enter their payment information and then submit that to my client. They will then process the order.

The end result that they would like is for an email to come in for each site registrant. Then a second email to come in when the logged in registrant finishes the purchasing form. What I am trying to figure out is can I have the second email, the one that will come after filling out the purchasing form, also display the registrants name that was filled out in the custom registration form? My client does not want to burden them with filling out their info each time they purchase something. They want logging in to handle that. I guess I would need some sort of custom form plugin that would pull data from the WP registration info.

    Simple example.

    Bob registers
Email 1 – User: BobbyS, Password: Smithy, E-mail [email protected], First Name: Robert Last Name: Smith etc….

Bob logs in a week later and fills out product form
Email 2 – First Name: Robert Last Name: Smith
    Red hat – QTY 2
    Blue hat – QTY 1
    Date – 05/13/13 etc…

Does anyone have any experience with something like this or have any ideas? Am I making this too difficult and overlooking an easy solution? I wish they would use a traditional e-commerce structure, but for some reason in my client’s contract with their vendor, they cannot finalize the sale via a website. Everything must be processed in house.

I am also wondering if there is an e-commerce plugin that would allow all the features of e-commerce but allow the user to submit the final info to my client instead of allowing the user to check out. Then I could just have the registration incorporated into the product page and eliminate the need for custom WordPress registration.
