Custom -Reply-To- email header
-
Hi Peter,
I was wondering if support is still on for PCemails.
Most modern mail servers do not longer allow a from/sender address that is not linked to the domain that is sending. So for example, an author with an gmail or hotmail account will break the plugin when sending a notification to an editor with that address as from/sender.
The workaround is to put in a hard from address, such as [email protected]. Now emails get delivered to the editors. But the problem is, editors and authors want to reply on these notifications. I already put in a notice in the translations files, send with the email, to not reply. But people don’t read.A solution may be to put in a [reply-to] line in the email header, with the email address from the submitter of the post. I feel this can be done, am I right?
This would not break the sending of email from the domain, because the sender is [email protected], but authors and editors CAN reply to the submitter!
Do you perhaps host the code for your plugin somewhere where people can fork and contribute?
Looking forward to you reply.
