I’m trying to create a custom sidebar but after I enter the name and description nothing appears under the Custom Sidebar area of the Widgets page. I checked the console and it appears the /wp-admin/admin-ajax.php file is generating a 500 (Internal Server Error). I’m not sure how to resolve this. I’ve already tried disabling all of my other plugins. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

I enabled WP_DEBUG and this is the message I got:

Notice: has_cap was called with an argument that is deprecated since version 2.0! Usage of user levels by plugins and themes is deprecated. Use roles and capabilities instead. in /var/www/html/eagle/wp-news-sandbox/wp-includes/functions.php on line 3318

    Hi @bwrigh15,

Thanks so much for your patience here! Sorry to hear you had some trouble with that, very strange as I’ve not seen an issue like that thus far.

Have you tried deleting and re-installing the plugin? That could help if there’s a file that’s inaccessible.

For that matter, could you let us know the exact error message you’re seeing with that 500 error?

Could you also try switching to Twenty Fourteen theme just to ensure there’s no theme conflict?

Looking forward to getting this sorted for ya asap!

    Cheers,
    David
