Custom Sidebars Not Loading in Widget Area
-
I have just updated my previous post here https://ww.wp.xz.cn/support/topic/create-sidebars-not-working-in-widgets-area?replies=3 (but then noticed it says ‘resolved’)
in this post I was asked to check the JS Console for errors in the Web Dev tools. below is what I just posted today as the response to where my last post left off (question was asked by https://ww.wp.xz.cn/support/profile/wpmudev-support1)’plugin contributor’ who asked:
Hi Paul,
I hope you are well today.
Is it working fine for you using default WordPress theme like Twenty Thirteen?
When using ifeature Pro theme can you check the javascript console for errors?
In Chrome go to “View -> Developer -> Javascript Console” and in Firefox you can go to “Tools -> Web Developer -> Console”
Find information about how to open JavaScript browser console :

http://codex.ww.wp.xz.cn/Using_Your_Browser_to_Diagnose_JavaScript_ErrorsLet me know what errors if any you are getting when you face this issue so that i can troubleshoot it.
Kind Regards,
WPMU DEVMy reply earlier today on the old post:
………….Just got back to this as it is stopping me from further developing around 7 of my client sites.
Are you saying that I should check my JS Console whilst trying to add a new sidebar in the widgets area? – If so I have tried this in Firefox on http://www.oaktimberframing.com and it shows me this as I try to create a sidebar:
TypeError: c.data.indexOf is not a function
I know nothing about Javascript to be honest so can you advise any further? You can see what I get when i try to add a sidebar and run the JS Console, I have uploaded a link to the image here: http://oaktimberframing.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/04/JS-Console.jpg
Thanks
Paul

Is there anyone supporting this plugin still? If anyone knows or can point me in the right direction it would be a great help?
Thanks
PaulHey there Paul,
Hope you’re well today!
If there is an error displayed in your console that most likely means that there is a theme/plugin conflicting with custom sidebars.
You can try using default WordPress theme like Twenty Fifteen and deactivating all other plugins as displayed in the following flowchart to know which theme/plugin is conflicting if any.

Please let me know if you find anything 🙂
Best regards,
Bojan
