    Hi,
Im trying to find a solution for this already for some time now. My theme uses sub heading for my woocommerce products but the thing is that it does not show up on order mails for customers.
The info I provide for customers in the sub heading is important and needs to be visible in order mails.

I use “Kadence WooCommerce Email Designer” for customizing the mails and was already in contact with their support. They were really helpful but unfortunately we could not find a solution, quote:

    “Hello,
if you need to override the email template within your theme, the Kadence Email Designer customizations will not work for that email template.
Your best bet would be to reach out to WooCommerce support as they may have a hook for that specific bit that we aren’t aware of.”

I also tried this already: https://docs.woocommerce.com/document/add-a-custom-field-in-an-order-to-the-emails/

but nothing worked so far. Any assistance or idea regarding that matter would be much appreciated.

    Kind regards

  • Hello @karlmann ,

Thanks for sharing your previous finding.

WooCommerce provides several hooks for the ordered items and in the email as well. Actually, you will need to know two pieces of information to make it work –

    1. The sub-heading meta key that your theme is adding to the product.
    2. Choose a hook where you want to show that information.

My guess is that you can use the woocommerce_order_item_meta_start or woocommerce_order_item_meta_end to show the sub-heading of the product along with the product title.

You can visualize the position and see other available hooks here – https://www.businessbloomer.com/woocommerce-visual-hook-guide-emails/

I will recommend you to get in touch with your theme developer and seek their suggestion on how can you access their custom sub-heading meta key.

    I hope this information helps.

    Thank you 🙂

    Hello @karlmann ,

I am afraid, without having assistance from the theme developers who have introduced the meta field we are unable to suggest any further ideas. The approach seems to be right on the screenshot but it needs close debugging to understand the actual reason why it is not working.

This is a fairly complex development topic. I’m going to leave it open for a bit to see if anyone is able to chime in to help you out.

I can also recommend the WooCommerce Developer Resources Portal for resources on developing for WooCommerce.

You can also visit the WooCommerce Facebook group or the #developers channel of the WooCommerce Community Slack. We’re lucky to have a great community of open-source developers for WooCommerce, and many of our developers hang out there, as well.

If you need a paid solution, you can consider taking help from one of our partner’s website.

    Thank you 🙂
