Hi, I’m following the Learn WordPress lesson on custom post types and taxonomies using Custom Post Type UI, but my custom taxonomies won’t show as options when adding submenu items in Appearance > Editor > Navigation > Edit

    What I’ve done:

    • Created CPT and taxonomy via CPT UI (followed video exactly)
    • Checked “Show in Nav Menus” during taxonomy setup
    • Flushed permalinks (Settings > Permalinks > Save)
    • Tried different browsers and incognito mode

    Environment:

    • WordPress: 6.9 and 6.9.1 (tried with both)
    • CPT UI: 1.18.3
    • Theme: Twenty Twenty Four
    • Active plugins: only CPT UI active
    • Custom taxonomy name: “height” , “climbing-rating”
    • Custom post type: “mountain”

    What am I missing? Thanks!

Not sure I’d say you’re necessarily missing anything for settings, but more that the Navigation Block is mostly “page” focused but does allow for some other link types.

I found that I was able to link to a specific post type post with the “custom link” block.

So that may help with your run through of this learning course, and I wonder if they under document custom post type usage in menus at the current version of the course.

Realizing that the screenshot didn’t work, but hopefully the text helped locate how to do this @yorwos
