Right now it’s unfortunately hard-coded at 3 templates per site, however you can use variables in your template which allow you to pass-through parameters from the shortcode. Using this technique you can make one template have an almost infinite variety of options.

That thread contains the kinda evolution of that particular feature, but towards the end you’ll see some examples. I hope that might help you to work around the 3-template limitation.
