    Hi,
I just noticed that my custom “style.css” file that I have placed in a directory “/mychildtheme/awesome-support/css/style.css” as indicated in your instructions manual has not worked for some time.
It worked well before … I suppose it was an update that broke this function?
How can I make my custom “style.css” file load instead of the plugin one?
Thanks in advance, best regards. Brice.

    Hi:

Yes, version 5.8.0 currently only pulls style sheets from the awesome support folder. This was done to facilitate the concept of “overlays” that wss introduced. But we do plan on re-introducing the override functions in a later update.

Most themes offer a place for CSS and in many cases there is a CSS option in the APPEARANCE->CUSTOMIZER screen as well. So for now you can just add your custom css to either of those areas.

    My apologies for this issue.

    Thanks.

BTW – we have this redone for the next version already. If you’d like a pre-release build of that so you can continue to use your stylesheet in the current location let me know and we’ll make one for you.

    Thanks.

    Thanks for your prompt response.
I directly replaced the style.css file with my customized file in the plugin directory.
I know that any update will overwrite this modified version but if you tell me that the next update will use my custom file again in the theme directory, everything should be ok no?
    Best regards. Brice.

You also tell me that it is possible to customize the stylesheet via “the concept of “overlays” that wss introduced”… What does it mean?

    Hi:

Yes, you are correct – the next version should restore the ability to load your styles from the theme folder. You can get a pre-release copy of that version from here:

Regarding overlays – see the TICKETS->SETTINGS->STYLE tab.

    Thanks.
