Custom text

On the confirmation email, I use the ‘name’for the Custom Text in Email For User. It provides the code %Name% on the form. However, in the confirmation email, it appears with the first name followed by the first and second name. For example, if John Smith is the user, in the confirmation email it will appear as John John Smith. How can I fix this issue?
