Custom text box

hey guys ill explain what i need. Im goin to put a video on a page which consists of a class being taught, what i would like is to place a small text box next to it with text so that the person can follow the class by reading the text whilst watchin the vid. Is this possible ? or is there another way? oh and i would like a explanation wit regards to read more on static pages… i read whatever posts concernin it on google about the post excerpts but i still dont understand where the coding must be placed , any small input would be greatly appreciated and thx again =)
