Hi
Can you help me understand this problem a bit better please.
You are setting up a gallery using the single thumbnail gallery, and you are providing overrides for the caption title and description?
Can you send me the exact settings you are using for one of your galleries together with the captions for the featured attachment in that gallery.
Can you also tell me what you are expecting to see and what you are seeing?
Hi, thanks for your response!
I am indeed using the single thumbnail gallery – and have used this suggestion to prevent the thumbnail from being shown as the first image of the gallery.
When I temporarily upgrade to version 1.4.27, the Override Description that I have for each thumbnail (‘psychologisch drama’, ‘experiment’, ‘in opdracht’, etc.) is also applied to the first image (which the Custom URL of the featured image links to).
My settings on the Captions tab of the first gallery:
– Override Title: (empty)
– Override Description:
<div align=”center”>
<font color=”#fff”>
psychologisch drama
</font>
</div>
– Title: Default
– Description: Default
– Limit Caption Length: No
Caption for the first image of the first gallery now reads:
psychologisch drama
Caption for the first image of the first gallery should be (per the caption and description of the image):
Degradatie
Gepubliceerd in Eppo Stripblad. Tekeningen: Charles Guthrie.
By the way, I also gave this caption and description to the featured image (which linked to the first image). If I try to replace that with the description from the override, the caption on both the thumbnail and the first image disappear.
Hope this helps you to better understand the problem, please let me know if you need to know more. Thanks again!
Thanks for the detailed explanation – that does help a lot.
We will try to reproduce on our side and get back to you as soon as we can
I’m having the same problem with Single Thumbnail Gallery. When executing Lightbox gallery .. the first image (the thumbnail) uses the text from the Alt Text tag I set in the Media Library. But subsequent images are fine, using the caption and description.
@jderooij, @mbajadek
Please download and try version 1.4.29 which fixes your caption issue
That works perfect – thanks, Bradvin!
