Hello. I was wondering if there was an option with this plugin to be able to customize the “Read more” button for each post. I’m trying to have preview block posts and when the users clicks the “Read more” button it will go to an external link that is specific to each post.

I’m attaching a page I have created in the past to create this effect. But am looking for a more stream lined way of posting.

    Hi @preston247

If you would like to add a link field for each post then you can use Advanced Custom Fields (ACF) plugin for it. If you are a pro user of the post grid plugin then you can add this custom button for each post very easily. But if you use only the free version then you have to overwrite the template to do it.

Please check the documentation to know how to overwrite the templates.

And also check this link for ACF.

    Thanks

Thank you for the help. I was able to install ACF and link it the pro version of the Post Grid. The last thing I need is to have my custom “Read more” look like a button and have a custom link be the destination when clicked. Currently the whole url is showing and I would like the user to just see the “Read more” link.

    Hi @preston247

We have released a new version of the post-grid plugin today. Please update both plugins. After the update, you have to make a link type custom field. If you make a link type then it will show as a button on the post. Please check the screenshot-

    Hi @habibjh

Thank you for you the fast support. I was able to update my plugins and follow your instructions however I’m still seeing the same result as before (Attached below). Let me know if I am doing anything wrong. I am also using the free version of ACF and not sure if that could be the problem.
