Custom Variables do not work. I want to add, for example, edit the product description and I receive the generated content “enter a product description so that I can generate it”. I’m adding it in Prompts {descriptions}.

    Hi @tokasmart,

    Thanks for reaching out! 😊

We’d love to help you with this. From what you described, it sounds like the {description} variable isn’t behaving as expected. However, custom variables like {description}, {title}, etc., are working stably for all of our users, so this might be a setup-related issue or a misunderstanding of how to use them.

Could you please clarify what exactly you’re trying to achieve and in which part of the plugin you’re using the variable? For example:

    • Are you editing a product manually or using bulk mode?
    • Are you using a custom prompt with {description} in it, expecting it to pull an existing value?

The message you’re seeing (“enter a product description so that I can generate it”) usually appears when the {description} variable doesn’t detect any existing description in the product to reference.

If you could share a bit more detail, we’d be happy to assist further!

    Best regards,

I added the {description} variable. He should reword the text from the product description.

but I can only see it in my description after generating the text with your plugi: Please provide the description you want me to rewrite. I need the text of “{Description}” to be able to help.

    Hi @tokasmart,

Thanks so much for the screenshots and the video – they were super helpful! 🙌

You’re absolutely right in how you’re trying to use the {description} variable. However, at the moment, the Single Product description generator feature on the product edit page, does not support custom variables like {description}.

If you’d like to reword or expand existing descriptions using variables, we recommend using the Bulk Description Generator feature — it fully supports custom variables and should give you exactly the result you’re looking for.

Let us know if you run into any issues with that or if you have other questions — happy to help! 😊

    Best regards,

It also doesn’t work in mass editing.

    Hi again @tokasmart,

Thanks for double-checking and letting us know!

You’re absolutely right — after reviewing, we discovered that there is indeed a small bug when trying to use default variables (like {description}) inside custom prompts. We’ll make sure to fix this in the upcoming version — and really appreciate you pointing it out 🙏

In the meantime, for what you’re trying to achieve (rewriting product descriptions), you can actually use the “Improve” option inside the Bulk Description Generator Toolbar. This feature is designed exactly for that — it uses your existing product descriptions and enhances them when you select the products and click “Generate”.

So if you’re okay with using that for now, it should help you get the results you’re looking for. And rest assured, the fix for the variable bug is on the way 😊

Thanks again for your valuable feedback!

    Best regards,
    – Dogu
