I have two questions regarding the colvis buttong.

Firstly, I am looking to try and customise the ColVis button as well as the dropdown buttons within it which allow the selection of the appropriate columns. Is there a way to do this through CSS?

Also, is it possible to turn the buttons from the dropdown into a checklist rather than individual buttons as it is difficult to see which columns have been selected?

    Hi,

thanks for your post, and sorry for the trouble.

Styling: Unfortunately, I don’t have a readily useable solution for this. 🙁 Your best chance is to inspect the CSS that ColVis currently uses, via the CSS file and (usually better) the Developer Tools in your browser (I recommend those from Google Chrome).

For the checkbox idea: I don’t think that this is possible, sorry. To be sure, you’d have to ask in the DataTables forums, I’m afraid.

    Regards,
    Tobias

    Hi Tobias,

Thanks for the quick response. No problem will have a deeper look into the DataTables forums and see what I can come up with!

Another question I have is the layout for the “response=collapse” is there a way to stack the columns next to each other. They are one underneath the other in rows but is it possible to put them into columns?

    Hi,

no, sorry, I’m not aware of a way to show the expanded cells in a column-fashion there. And I think it wouldn’t really help anyways, as one would have the same problem (not all columns fit into the available space) again.

    Regards,
    Tobias
