Customising template – question

    Hi,
    I am currently in the process of customising the wordpress template. However, I came across one thing that I can’t find anywhere in the documentation.
    I’d like to display the tagline (the explanation what my blog is all about) in the template. Of course, I could simply add static text to the HTML file, but is there a way to add the tagline dynamically, in the same way url and title are added?
    I’d appreciate your help. BTW: I apologise if this is the wrong category.

    Here’s one way.
    Add this to your CSS:
    #tinfo {
    background-color: #fff;
    margin-left: auto;
    margin-right: auto;
    font-size: 12px;
    font-family: ‘lucida sans unicode’, verdana, sans-serif;
    padding-left: 20px;
    }
    In index.php, add this line:
    <h1 id="header">"><?php bloginfo('name'); ?></h1>
    <div id="tinfo">put your words or tag here</div>
    <div id="content">
    (The ‘tinfo’ line)
    That will display as a bar under the header, but above the content.
    You’d have to adjust the font-size, padding etc.
    Not great, but it works for what you want, or for a random quote type thing.

    <?php bloginfo('description'); ?>
