What exactly is it that you’re unable to do? Define “customize” in that context. 🙂
Well, every box has this tiny grey square. You should be able to click on it to change the contents of the box, but that just doesn’t work.
Remove any admin themes (like Tiger Style Admin) if you have them.
You can also try moving the scriptaculous/ directory that comes with Sidebar Widgets into the wp-includes/js folder.

Well, those are the most common problems.
1) Have the latest widgets.php? http://svn.wp-plugins.org/widgets/trunk
2) Disable other plugins, test again?
I disabled the “currently reading” widget and plugin and that did the trick. Thanks.
