• I have been testing solutions for a while and need some help from the WordPress community.

The Customizer is giving me the following error for the Kadence and Sinatra themes. I tested it on the Twenty Twenty themes and it is working.

“There has been a critical error on this website. Please check your site admin email inbox for instructions. If you continue to have problems, please try the support forums.”

I deactivated all plugins and it is still broken.
I contacted my host and the cleared cache and verifying PHP settings / versions, etc.
They said it was potentially related to Kadence.

What are your thoughts? Thank you in advance. I need to be able to customize before I start marketing, etc.

The reason for the error should be visible in the error log. You can find it in your hosting area. If necessary, the support of your hosting can help you.

Alternatively, you could also enable debugging in WordPress. How to do this is described here: https://ww.wp.xz.cn/support/article/debugging-in-wordpress/ – also here the support of your hosting can help you if necessary to edit the file accordingly.

In both cases you should be able to see what the cause is in the logfile.

Thanks for the quick reply. I enabled bugging and it says it is related to Depreciation.
My hosting service said it is tied to the theme, but it isn’t working for Kadence, Sinatra or Astra.

    Here is the current error:

Deprecated: Automatic conversion of false to array is deprecated in /home2/jkpwrite/public_html/wp-includes/class-wp-customize-widgets.php on line 1242

A friend told me it may be related to PHP. Thank you to all for your help with this.
I am going around in loops with tech support.

A deprecated message is not a fatal error as it is displayed to you. You must look for a fatal error in the log file. If it is not there, it may also be in another log file. The debug mode of WordPress actually helps to see it pretty reliably.
