Customizer doesn’t change background color

Using Generatepress, WP 6.2. I’ve had success changing the color of links using the customizer, but the customizer has no effect on background color. I want to change the background color to white #ffffff. Looking at the page source, I see some instances of white. But the unwanted color #DDC49D is repeated 12 times in line 48. I also tried adding CSS for white in line 79. Any suggestions?
