Customizer not recognizing page layout

I have a great looking, siimple layout for my home page I really like. (See the attached link.) But when I open it up in Customizer it doesn’t seem to recognize the layout at all.

If I click Update in Customizer the actual page layout doesn’t work any more. Yet when I open the page for editing, they layout is still there.

If I click Preview from the edit screen the page displays properly. But if I save and display the actual page, the layout is completely gone.

Hi,

I checked your site, and noticed lots of Mixed content errors in the console, caused by a mismatch of HTTP/HTTPS. These are probably causing the styles to not load properly.

You can try to fix those errors by following the steps suggested here https://www.wpbeginner.com/plugins/how-to-fix-the-mixed-content-error-in-wordpress-step-by-step/

Thank you so much! That plugin fixed this as soon as I Activated it with its Simple setting! 🙂

Would you be game to take one more peek and see if you think it’s caught everything?

Hi,

I’m glad to hear that helped. From what I can see in the console, there are still some errors coming from the fonts in Otter Blocks.

Another thing you can check, is making sure you use the same HTTPS link as you have on your site, on these two options in WordPress https://vertis.d.pr/i/E9PXPC

I’ve updated the WordPress links to use my https url now. Did this fix the Otter Blocks problem?

Hi again,

I just migrated my website to its true destination URL and my background image has stopped showing again. I double checked and the two URLs in the general settings are set to https. The simple setting that workd before with the SSL Insecure Content Fixer is no longer rectifying the situation.

Anything else you can see that is wrong here now?

Hi there,

Depending on how you’ve did the migration, probably some image links were not updated, to point to the new site. This seems to be the case for this main image https://vertis.d.pr/i/6BuTT5 which point to another site.

Thanks. Because it was just a couple background images my chosen approach was to just clear them on the pages and save, delete them from the server, then add them back as background images while uploading them to the server again.

All fixed!
