    Hi there,

today a customer contacted me and said that he is not able to save any widget changes with the customizer.

I set up a rudimentary test site/copy of the installation. Copying just all plugins and theme but not the database.

On this site I could replicate the issue and found out, that when the ESI setting is activated, that widgets cannot be saved anymore.

An error occures “An error has occurred. Please reload the page and try again.” and the spinner dont stop rotating.

I now deactivated the option on the live site also, and yes I could save the widgets again.

I than tried to change the ESI options but this changes nothing.
I also cannot see any errors or warning in the console.

Has anybody any infos about that?

    Hi,

I just tested on a default WP 5.3 with ESI , save widget is working fine for me.

Could you please check PHP error log if there is anything ?

also , if possible , please try disable all other plugins and see if it works , maybe a plugin conflict.

    Best regards,
