Customizing Archives

Hi Everyone,

I would like to customize my archives page (http://www.pxleight.com/archives/) in the following way:

December 2006
Dec 2 – A Post Redux
Dec 1 – A Post

November 2006
Nov 30 – Hello World

I did some searching around and found

but I couldn’t get my head around it for it to make any sense. Perhaps someone can guide me here and tell me what I need to do?
