Yes, you are absolutely correct. Youzer blocks not just my plugin from working, but any plugins that use the standard BuddyPress hooks to add functionality to member profiles. This ensures their plugin looks great on sites, but does mean that you are locked out of much custom functionality.
In the first instance, it will be for the developer of Youzer to find a workaround, but I will reach out to them later this week too.
In the meantime, it would be fantastic if anyone who has this issue could contact Youzer support and ask them to add compatibility.

I’ve tried the plugin with just the theme but I’m still getting broken layout on the members page:

It displays as expected on individual profile pages though.
The theme isn’t rigid like Youzer and has so far worked well with other plugins like Gamipress, Events Manager, BP Site Post, etc.
That should be a simple fix to remove the list bullets with some custom css. Can you send me a set of demo login details so I can access the member directory page. You can use the contact form on my website if you don’t want to make them public here.
