The cut, copy and paste available in the TinyMCE core do not seem to work solidly across all browsers.

It would have to be fixed “upstream”.

    What does it mean ?

My apologies; I often get stuck in “tech junkie” land.

I mean the cut, copy, paste buttons are developed by TinyMCE Moxiecode. I have made no attempt to modify these buttons from their original code.

Since the issue relates directly to these buttons; it’s necessary for the issue to be fixed “upstream” (or, at the source); in this case, TinyMCE Moxiecode.

Here is a link to TinyMCE’s Support Forum.

Can I trust on it that Josh will solve this problem,
    coming with an update ?

I’m sorry, I don’t think I’m explaining this very well.

The issue is with TinyMCE core software. I can’t change this from my plugin. I can only extend/modify/enhance what is made available in the core software.

If the core software does not allow for something (or if there is a bug); I simply can’t fix it from a plugin. It would have to be fixed in the core.

I am not part of the Tinymce team. I have no influence, connections or other “insider” perks. I’m simply an end-user, creating what I can for the WP community.

So to answer your question, regrettably no. It’s not something I can solve with an update. It will have to be solved in the core Tinymce software.

Please inform them about this problem.
    Than it can be solved.

    Okay, after some extensive digging:

    1) The TinyMCE devs say this is not a bug on their end (read this, good info):
    http://www.tinymce.com/forum/viewtopic.php?id=20637

    2) Apparently, it is a setting in Firefox (I’m assuming you are using Firefox), which protects the clipboard security.

    3) I found an article which explains how to re-enable the cut, copy and paste:
    https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/Midas/Security_preferences

You’ll have to know how to access your Firefox Profile info.

    NOTE:
Again, Firefox disables these buttons for security reasons (apparently). The final decision to modify the preferences rests in your hands.

If you DO happen to make this modification; I would LOVE to hear your results πŸ™‚

Yeah, I played around with it for a bit and wasn’t able to get anything working properly.

    I’ll have to dig further…

    Sooo….

I think this is going to be fixed in the WordPress 4.0 update (anticipated September 3rd, 2014).

We shall keep our fingers crossed.. and see if it works πŸ™‚

This works well for me now.
I’m going to mark this topic as resolved.
    Please change back if necessary.
