• First – Really like this plug-in! Thanks for all your creative effort with it.

Here is an issue I encountered and what I have been able to observe.

I am using a photo slideshow (nextgen) and Easy Testimonials (testimonials_cycle) on the same site. And then I happened to notice the photo slideshow(s) are only cycling through three of the photos when there are many more than that. The Easy Testimonials is working as expected.

There appears to be a conflict between the photo slideshow and easy testimonials (testimonials_cycle).

    Did some testing:
    – deactivate Easy testimonials – All photos now cycled through (good)
    – Activate Easy testimonials / set use cycle fix (unset disable cycle2 output) / testimonials_cycle syntax – Only 3 photos cycled through (not so good)

If I set Disable Cycle 2 Output and use random_testimonial syntax, everyone works. But I really want to use the random_testimonial functionality which appears to require cycle2 files.

Do you have any thoughts as to a workaround for this?

    Thanks so much!

    Hey dzh –

This is a known issue of sorts. Several different plugins and themes in the wild use the Cycle2 javascript library, and they appear to conflict when they are all enabled at the same time.

As you have noted, disabling the Cycle2 include from our plugin will fix the errors, but it also disables the ability to have our plugin slide.

Typically, using the cycle2 fix addresses this problem, but it sounds like that still causes some issue for you. Can you show me where on your site this occurs, so I could take a peak at what is going on?

    Best,
    Richard

    Hey Richard,

Thanks so much for taking a look.

One of the pages that had the problem: http://endurancebuzzadventures.com/

Currently, I have cycle2 disabled though. Do you want me to re-enable it?

    Thanks

    Hey dzh!

Sorry for the late response – yes I would need it re-enabled to see the bug present itself.

I can see that the photo slideshow is using the same javascript library we are, so I imagine there is a conflict between how they are calling it and how we are calling it.

    Hey dzh –

Quick followup: can you try Disabling Cycle2 Include and Use Cycle Fix.

The first option will stop our include of Cycle2, which is what causes and issue with the Photo Gallery slideshow.

The second option will add some script to the bottom of your page to manually invoke our testimonial slider. This should work just fine, since your other plugin is already including the Cycle2 library.

Will you give that a try and let me know what happens?

    Best,
    Richard

Running into this same problem. Tried your fix, Richard, and it did not resolve this problem. Any other suggestions?

    Hey Richard,

I have set ‘Disabling Cycle2’ and set ‘Use Cycle Fix’.

Then included the following code: [testimonials_cycle container=’1′]

This only shows one testimonial (always the same one) and doesn’t cycle through. The photo slideshow did cycle through the full set.

This doesn’t appear to solve the issue.

(returned layout back to [random_testimonial count=’3′ container=’1′] so I can keep my full slideshow rollin’)

    Any other thoughts?

    Thanks so much!
