• Hello,
Is it possible for Gridzone to display a switch for visitors so they can choose between normal / dark mode? And if it could detect the user’s preference from their OS, that would be even better.

Have you thought about selling a premium version of this theme? I would definitely pay for more “user experience” features like the switch for dark mode, and to have more customize options without editing CSS. For example, I don’t think it’s currently possible to change the sidebar colors (text/background/etc.) unless I add custom CSS.

  • Hi cannibal6,

Try a plugin, such as this one for example:

I haven’t tried it and there may be others.

Thanks, I will check that next. I know Gridzone has dark mode support behind the scenes, so I might actually try editing that in to a user switch. I’ve been trying to optimize for speed and keep it light, and avoiding too many plugins when possible.

Maybe I’m wrong, but it seems like this theme already supports 99% of what it needs for user-selected dark mode.

    Hi there!

Thanks for the feedback re: a premium version of the theme. Dark mode switch is something I have on my list to add. I just want to do it properly, so I may use the code from TwentyTwentyOne which I think has the switch code working.

Sidebar colors is another good idea for the future. Can’t promise anything, but both are on the list for future Gridzone updates.
