dashboard event list shows empty screen

    Just a weird thing to which I hope somebody can make sense:
    While I was busy adding events suddenly my events list in dashboard disappeard, and there’s no way I can get it back. Where the full list should be (under Events>edit) I get just an empty screen.

    Everything else works just fine and I can still add events, and all shows up correctly at the front end. But without the list it’s now impossible to search or edit existing events.

    I have hundreds of events, all recurring so the total number of items runs into thousands (I’m using EME as a program scheduler), so maybe it’s some sort of database overload? Or a display limit issue?

    Hope someone can point me in the right direction.

    hmmmm … can it be that the number of events is getting too big to show?
    How much events do you have by estimation?

    I fear the same… 🙁
    By now it’s close to 12,500 events. I didn’t think there’s a built-in limit, is there?

    I’m on a development server which was already very slow in displaying the list, sometimes taking over a minute to load, so it may be my server.

    Or maybe the WP memory limit? But then I would get an error message, I guess.

    Well you’re probably bumping into limits here. I’m in progress of switching the event listing to ajax, that will solve your problems (but you’ll need to be patient until the weekend)

    Hi Franky, thanks for the fast update. This morning when I opened EME (without updating) my event list reappeared in the dashboard. It was slow to load but it was back.

    Then I decided to give your update a spin, updated to 1.7.0 and… the screen was empty again! 🙁
    So I reinstalled 1.6.26 and the list reappeared…

    I’m at a loss as to what causes the problem. It may well be our server, and hopefully we will move our project to another server later this week. Until then any suggestion is welcome.

    Another update, 24 hours beyond: this morning I gave the new version (1.7.2 already) another try and surprise: my events are back where they belong! 😀

    Now all that’s missing is the option to edit recurring events. I can’t find the link for that anywhere. Is there a new setting I’m missing?

    Found it, it was something I missed. :X
    All I had to do was right click on the column headers to select.

    The new system works like a charm, with thousands of entries. Thanks a lot!
