    Hi

my WP dashboard shows me today:

ERROR: The themes directory is either empty or doesn’t exist. Please check your installation.

My frontend is fine but I can´t choose my theme page-templates in the backend yet.
Now I try to use old database backups nothing happened.

    What happened?

What version of WordPress were you using when these backups were made?
Have you checked the wp-content/themes folder by FTP?

I use WP version 3.3.1. The theme-folder looks fine for me. I try the backups from the last three days (each per day)

Yesterday I installed “SEO by Yoast“. version 1.1.5

    Try:
    – switching to the Twenty Eleven theme by renaming your current theme’s folder in wp-content/themes and adding “-old” to the end of the folder name using FTP or whatever file management application your host provides.

resetting the plugins folder by FTP or phpMyAdmin.

    – re-uploading all files & folders – except the wp-content folder – from a fresh download of WordPress.

    Done:

    1. ERROR message is gone
    2. Just “twentyeleven” is active, can´t choose my custom theme in the backend, because there is no option for it.

My theme is in the theme folder on my server.

Ohh – my mistake, it was no “style.css” in the custom-theme folder.

    Thanks for your help.
    Bye
