Data Forms: UPDATE ONLY mode

    Hi,

    my end users are only allowed to update records via WPDA forms (both back-end and front-end).

    I don’t see how to accomplish this requirement, as :

    • Project-Pages available settings:
      • Mode: edit (options: edit, view).
    • Insert allowed? (options: yes, no, only).

    I my understanding, the “update_only” option is missing in Mode choices.

    By setting Mode: “update_only” AND Insert allowed = No

    could be possible to match the whole CRUD options.

    Any suggestion more than appreciated.

    Hi @measy,

    If I understand correctly, you want users to only UPDATE, without the choice to INSERT or DELETE.

    This can be done by using the following settings on your project page:

    • Mode – Edit
    • Allow Insert? – No
    • Allow Delete? – No

    thanks for your reply.

    Aiming to “zip” the message as possible, I missed to specify UPDATE ONLY CHILD.

    As usual, in my business perspective, end users should be able to select Parent records, and update/insert only child records.

    Different modes for parents and childs is currently not supported. Sorry! This is on our (very long 😉</img>) to do list, but it will come…
