Hi there! I am using Wp Statistic to count my post views in my webiste: [ redundant link deleted ]. I just saw this message and now Im thinking about changing the settings:

WP Statistics Notice (Database Maintenance Recommended): Your database has accumulated many records, which could slow down your site. To improve performance, go to Settings → Data Management to enable the option that stops recording old visitor data, and visit the Optimization page to clean up your database. This process only removes detailed old visitor logs but retains aggregated data. Your other data and overall statistics will remain unchanged. For more details, click here.

An now I hop on the settings in the Data Cleanup. Now the question is, does the Delete Records Older Than and Purge Data Older Than: X days delete the number of views in my site? I ask this question because in the notice above it is said: This process only removes detailed old visitor logs but retains aggregated data.

If yes then should I just purge since my website is trying to slow down keeping in mind that the number of post views and/or visitors wont change? Please I need ASAP support. Really appreciate the help

    PS: below are my settings:

  • Hello @shqipcinema,

Thank you for your patience, and sorry for the delay.

The Delete Records Older Than option will not remove your total views or visitors.

They only delete old extra details like location or browser to reduce database size and improve performance.

You can use this now if you want, but it’s not urgent.

By default, it is set to 365 days.

    Best regards,
    Mehmet
