Database connection error

I accidently deleted my database which I had wordpressed installed, lost were 3 years worth of my journal. I’m devistated. Though I did recently switch servers and domains, so I guess I lied about the three years lost, it’s just technically 1 month… I also uninstalled wordpress from my site (files etc.)

Anyways back to my problem. I have asked my host to see if they can back up the databse and they did, but it no working correctly, I am getting errors in the phpadmin area, and I have reinstalled wordpress via Fantastico. I have altered the wp-config.php file to point to the right databse, though I am now getting this error message.

This probably means that the connection information in your wp-config.php file is incorrect. Double check it and try again.

How would I fix this, and if i am able to actually restore the contents of the database that I had deleted, would I just be able to alter the wp-config.php file so then it would work correctly?
