Hi,

After last plugin update, the website went very slow and the server was not responding with error message: “Error establishing a datebase connection” ..

This forced me to deactivate the plugin to get the website and server working again immediately.

Then I found this kind of inquiries repeating it self many times for the same article (server is getting around 30,000 inquiry per sec):

    LIMIT 1
0	Waiting for table level lock	SELECT * FROM
wp_yoast_indexable
WHERE
object_id
= '591789' AND
object_type
= 'post' LIMIT 1
0	Waiting for table level lock	SELECT * FROM
wp_yoast_indexable
WHERE
object_id
= '591789' AND
object_type
= 'post' LIMIT 1
0	Waiting for table level lock	SELECT * FROM
wp_yoast_indexable
WHERE
object_id
= '591789' AND
object_type
= 'post' LIMIT 1
0	Waiting for table level lock	SELECT * FROM
wp_yoast_indexable
WHERE
object_id
= '591789' AND
object_type
= 'post' LIMIT 1

    Thank you.

  • We are sorry to hear that you’re having trouble with our plugin. The issue you are experiencing here when the site is very large (have around 50,000+- pages) and when the SEO data optimization hasn’t been performed.

Can you please confirm the total number of pages on your website (including posts, taxonomies, etc) and whether you have performed the SEO data optimization from the SEO → Tools page?

We look forward to hearing from you.

    Hi,

Thank you for the quick reply. Yes our database is huge, I believe few hundreds of thousands pages. I have tried to perform SEO data optimization since it became an option, but I never succeeded and it always disconnects with try again message.

Thanks for your confirmation. Since you have a large site and haven’t performed the SEO data optimization, Yoast SEO runs expensive database query in the background. So, we recommend you to complete the SEO data optimization by using the WP-CLI. You can find the relevant guide here https://developer.yoast.com/features/wp-cli/reindex-indexables/.

We are going ahead and marking this issue as resolved due to inactivity. If you require any further assistance please create a new issue.

    Hi Devnihil,

The solution is correct but not practical. It took 6 hours and still 6% only completed. I wish there is a better and faster solution. I just need my server to be calm and working WITH Yaost plugin activated.
