Database E?
-
When I try to save a new participant it doesn’t do so and shows “Database E” at the top of the page.

Can you be more complete in the description of the circumstances? Have you been using the plugin or is it a new install? What page were you on when this happened? Does this happen every time you try? Did you recently install a new plugin? Please include any details you think will be helpful in understanding the problem you’re seeing, thanks.
I’ve been using it for several months. I have saved and edited 20 participants successfully. I saved the 21st one successfully but when I tried to edit it the problem occurred. I have tried numerous times to edit and save the 21st participant without success. I haven’t recently installed any new plugins. Thanks.
For testing purposes I just added another participant and then tried to edit it and it worked fine. So it might just be that one participant that is the problem.
I don’t know if it matters but I am using Participant Log.
I’ve carefully analyzed the participant record that’s the problem and I fail to see anything different about it as compared to all my others.
OK good, I suggest you turn plugin debugging on (Participants Database settings under the advanced tab), clear the debugging log, then try editing the one record that’s giving you trouble. Some kind of database error is getting generated, it would be helpful to see what that error is.

I suppose you can try temporarily deactivating the Participant Log plugin and see if that allows you to update that record.
It was the following that was in a text-line field:
🡹
When I took it out it saved fine.
However, if I save it as the following it saves it and converts it to the arrow.
🡹
It converted it. It’s “🡹” without the quotes.
🡹Well, how can I show you it?
It’s the following without any spaces:
& # 1 2 9 1 4 5 ;
It’s hard to show those entities here, they always get converted so you can’t display the actual entity code. Someone pasted the character in I suppose….I’ll take a look at that. Thanks for providing the details.

I was using the arrow in a text-line field. Should I not use it?
