Database error

Hi folks,

I recently changed theme for a site and updated it a bit.
Since then, I’m getting this error every couple of days or so:

WordPress database error Commands out of sync; you can't run this command now for query SELECT autoload FROM ajlzt_options WHERE option_name = 'rank_math_notifications' made by shutdown_action_hook, do_action('shutdown'), WP_Hook->do_action, WP_Hook->apply_filters, MyThemeShop\Notification_Center->update_storage, delete_option

I get the same sort of error for the plugin Asset Cleanup.

Any ideas where to look after?

Please update to the latest version of the plugin and then clear the cache.

After clearing the cache, please click on these buttons in Status & Tools section:

Many thanks for this, good to know those settings exist.
Looks better already but prefer to wait a bit and see what happens.
Marking this as resolved for the time being and will get back here if it happens again.

Hi folks,

I thought I would let you know that I’m still getting the same every now and then.

WordPress database error Commands out of sync; you can't run this command now for query SELECT autoload FROM ajlzt_options WHERE option_name = 'rank_math_notifications' made by shutdown_action_hook, do_action('shutdown'), WP_Hook->do_action, WP_Hook->apply_filters, MyThemeShop\Notification_Center->update_storage, delete_option

I did the recommended actions above but still getting the same error every 2-3 days.
Everything runs normally though and I can’t see any issues caused by this.

Upon researching further online, we found that few other users have reported such issues with WPML, Shield, etc. plugins.

The most common reasons for this error are
1. Cache plugin – You can check if the error is logged again by clearing/disabling the cache plugin and also on the server-side.

2. Memory getting exhausted – If the log file is showing memory-related errors then this could be the reason

3. A theme or a plugin is running a query and not completing it – You can check if another plugin is not causing this problem by creating a staging site with only Rank Math plugin activated.
