I have the same problem, I think its a WP 3.0.4 problem. See my case: http://www.ww.wp.xz.cn/support/topic/is-something-wrong-with-wp-304
Have you tried:
– deactivating all plugins to see if this resolves the problem? If this works, re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s).
– switching to the Twenty Ten theme to rule out any theme-specific problems?
– resetting the plugins folder by FTP or PhpMyAdmin? Sometimes, an apparently inactive plugin can still cause problems.
@lrhenals: It’s impolite to highjack another poster’s thread.
I tried deactivating all my plugins to see, I’ve reactivated them one by one and none of those are the problem. Plugins:
-Disqus Comment System
-Img Title Removal
-Page Links To
-Custom Contacts Form (It may or may not be this one – this was the very last plugin that I installed, even though deactivating/reactivating it didn’t cause any changes)
I have switched back to the default theme, it is not theme specific.
I will try resetting the plugins folder, I have not tried that yet.
Sorry I’m not hijacking…just trying to help, I think we have similar problems, don’t be rude!
It could just be a flakey server at your hosts’ end.
@lrhenals: Your problem is not the same.
I was able to access a placeholder file on my main directory while the issue was occurring, seems to be a WordPress isolated issue
That wouldn’t be diagnostic if the server in question was the MySQL server. My current guess is that the MySQL server may be the root of the problem.
Ok, thanks. I’ll keep my eye on it then. I don’t know much about databases so if it keeps occurring more often I’ll contact my host.
