• Hi,
I have a woocommerce site, I’ve hired a programmer on freelancer to make some modifications to the theme that I was using. The modifications involved some cosmetics changes as well as some back end changes.
Now its time to move the database (product info, customers data etc…) off my old site and into the new site but the developer is telling me that he’s encountering problems as there is a mismatch of info in the database and that there will be issues with some products might not display properly etc…
The database that he was working on while making the changes is a copy of my old database, I’ve replicated the site for him so he can work it on a demo server.
Can this be an issue or is the developer simply incompetent?

Sorry, but no one here can help with this; we can’t see the code and you shouldn’t give access to the demo server to someone you work with in these forums. You have to deal with your develper or find another.

If you can’t do the work yourself, consider looking for a reputable person on http://jobs.wordpress.net/ or http://directory.codepoet.com or http://upwork.com

So its possible that the structure of the database might change with modifications to the theme even though all the products data remains the same?

The database won’t change unless someone changes it; if you copied the database, it’s the same. The presentation of the data in the theme can change if the theme is not displaying the data the same as the old theme. There is no “mismatch” of the data in the database; the new theme is not displaying the data the way you want. If the products don’t display the way you want, it’s the devs fault, not the database’s fault.
