database problem

    I am installing wordpress for the first time. I am following the instructions on this site: http://codex.ww.wp.xz.cn/Installing_WordPress

    I have having a problem coordinating my datbase and wp-config.php

    i think my problem is

    in phpMyAdmin …the part where you click ‘privlages’ then ‘Add a new User’ I am getting an error when I try to create a new user.

    I understand the end goal is to get ‘a blank database’ and modify the wp-config.php file to access the database..

    I am using phpMyAdmin 2.6.3-pl1

    I hope what I am writing makes sense.
