• Accessing previously working WordPress site today, got “Error establishing a database connection” and “One or more database tables are unavailable. The database may need to be repaired” when going to wp-admin.

    1. I tried adding the allow-repair script to wp-config, then got 404 error when I tried accessing repair.php or wp-admin.
    2. I tried restoring the original wp-config and I’m still getting 404 error instead of repair database error.
    3. Found that phpMyAdmin had been installed on Yahoo Small Business hosting account. However, attempting to access also gives “Error establishing a database connection” error.

      Any suggestions on solution? Thanks!!

Had been trying to reach tech support at same time as troubleshooting. Looks like it is a hosting issue, although I won’t consider it resolved until the site is actually back up. Thanks to anyone looking for a solution on this!

Resolution turned out to be restoring site from backup to new hosting service. Problem was due to a never ending server outage.
