Since the latest update I get the following error message
Database Update – It seems like something went wrong while updating the database, please re-activate this plugin.

I’ve deactivated the plugin and re-activated but the error remains.

I’ve uninstalled the plugin and reinstalled but the error message is still there.

The error message wasn’t there before the latest update, so it seems to be related to that.

Hi, first off; it shouldn’t cause any issues, we just change the database version to be more “update proof”

But this error still shouldn’t pop up ofcourse, could you tell me the two database versions that the status page gives you? (Status >> Systeminfo >> Database)

I have 9 websites with the error message and the two database versions are
    Database 1.4.5 (Latest: 3.4.3)

I also have 3 websites where there is no error message and the two database versions are
    Database 3.4.3 (Latest: 3.4.3)

I’ve managed to get the issue myself and I’ll have a fix with the next update! I don’t think the next update will take long but like I said, this error won’t cause any issues 🙂

I’m also seeing this. Hope you can get ii fixed soon. I just spent 20 minutes trying to fix it which I really needed to be spending on other things, which is probably true for a lot of other people also. Since it is occurring at the same time as a major WordPress core update, “something went wrong while updating the database” is not what anyone wants to see right now. Or ever, really. In fact, if the error message could be made clearer to specify the plugin’s database (if that is indeed what it is referring to), that might be a good idea.

@syzygist while looking to fix this issue I noticed that the error message indeed could be a bit clearer to I’ve changed it to have the plugins name in it.

I’ve scheduled the update for later today so a fix is on its way 🙂

Look forward to the next update, although the error doesn’t seem to be causing a problem as updates are happening regardless.
Really like the plugin, great work on your part in putting time and effort into it!

Version 3.4.4 is the version that will allow you to fix the error. Glad to hear you like my plugin 🙂

I also appreciate your plugin. It is so much more user-friendly and stable than the other options that were available before Companion Auto Update came out, and has reduced old-version-related hacking on sites of some of my clients substantially, as well as saving me a lot of time managing my own sites. Thank for the speedy fix.
