Database will not export: csv file is blank
-
Hi,
Thank you for making this plugin available. It has made organization for non-profits like mine much easier.I have updated to 1.5.4.9 and am running PHP 5.4.40. When I select to export the DB it come up blank. The headers are there but no content. I really need to get this export working so I can contact our volunteers.
This worked in the past and the database does have entries. I can see the data and edit it. Just not export

When do do the CSV export from the admin “list participants” page, are entries showing in the list? Do you have the “Include Field Titles” checked or unchecked?
Yes, logged in ad the administrator. I have tried with both including the Title and not.
Yes, on the web interface the entries are showing. They just don’t populate on the .csvOK, well I can think of no explanation for that. If you want me to investigate further, send me an admin login: [email protected]
I am having the same issue… Any solutions to this?
Thanks, Eva-Maria
I’m sorry, they never got back to me, so I wasn’t able to investigate. After you export your CSV, what are you doing with it?
I want to update some data and import it back again.
I don’t think there is a feature that enables bulk updates to fields like I can do in Excel with the “fill” feature?
Right now when want to export records, all I get is a file with the field names and no data…
When I click “include field titles”, I get the field titles as well but still no data…
I don’t know what would cause this, and it will be a bit tricky to debug. I would suggest you get as PHP error log set up so you can see what’s happening. Ask your web host to set this up if you don’t know how.
You can use a plugin to show the error log in your WP dashboard. Error Log Monitor works well.
Thanks for the response!
I guess it will be easier for me to go and expert the data from MySQLThanks, Eva-Maria
travelmoments: Just a thought: When you set up your fields, on the far right, do you have “CSV” checked for those fields you want to export? (I think you need that, don’t you, xnau?) I’m setting this up for my group, so I just happened to notice this.
mudwoman, that’s helpful, and you’re right, that should be checked, but she wouldn’t see the header row if she didn’t have the CSV export fields defined.
I do have some insight on this problem, but I still don’t know what’s causing it in this case: it has to do with the a saved user option value that isn’t getting retrieved.
travelmoments, I suggest doing a search or clear just before trying to export. That should refresh the saved option value.
I do have the CSV checked, and I tried with a search and then clearing it… Still no luck.
Hi there
Any news on this? CSV checked, export only shows header.
Since I have not been able to duplicate the problem in my own tests, I have no new insights to offer.
Are you able to look at your PHP error log? Try an export then see what gets printed to the error log.
Hi Xnau
Good news, after trying so many times over the last few months it did give me the date today at the third try, however the next attempt failed again.
I list here the errors which include the participants-database, if you need I’m happy to send you the whole file (1.99 Mgb).

I hope this is from the right file.
Thank you, cheers
Please share if you find a solution, as I am still struggling with the same problem.
Thanks,
