Hi,
thanks for your post, and sorry for the trouble.
Your observation is correct. The sorting, search, print, etc. functions don’t work in tables with combined cells. The reason for that is that the external DataTables JavaScript library, that TablePress uses for that, does not support tables with combined cells 🙁 Unfortunately, there’s nothing I can do about this in TablePress.
You will have to decide: Either use the extra functions, or have combined cells. Both at the same time is not possible, unfortunately.

Tobias
Hi Tobias
🙁
I really wish that you can guide me here as this is important. We got to have both the things for one of my projects.
and even if you couldn’t, I still will be grateful to you. This tool that you have built here is AWESOME. It has helped me a lot and though I can’t contribute much with my current state.. I’ll definitely contribute something towards this plugin as and when I can. Your tool is GREAT and GREATER is the support you are offering to all of us 🙂
An after thought, are you interested in working with us on a project.. it will be paid help for sure… we can discuss.
Thanks.
Hi,
unfortunately, there’s nothing I can do here 🙁 This is a limitation in that external JavaScript library from http://www.datatables.net
I’m not the developer of that, I only added it to TablePress. Therefore, I don’t know the internal reasons as to why this requires a table without combined cells.
And thanks for the offer of working with you on that project. Unfortunately, due to time constraints, and as I’m not a professional developer, I have to decline. Sorry…
Regards,
Tobias
