Hi Till!
Does a Twitter embed work in your content? According to the source code it seems that there is an additional snippet, which processes the post content and this way breaks the generated JavaScript code from Embed Privacy to reveil the original content after clicking the overlay.
Best regards,
Matthias

Or rather: the Twitter embed (created via Twitter -> “Diesen Tweet einbetten”) seems untouched by Embed Privacy, whereas the Twitter feed on the sidebar is correctly hidden and shown after click-thru.

Found the problem: the “Intypo” plugin seem to be the culprit.
Intypo (International Typography) changes quotation marks, e.g. „…“ instead of “…” for Germany etc. See Options/Intypo for configuration.

Thank you for digging deeper!
So in fact the plugin does replacing which it shouldn’t. I think you should contact the author of the plugin to fix this (ignore JavaScript snippets inside the code) or use correct typography by yourself. 🙂

Not so easy for a long-running blog … but yeah, the mistake seems to be InTypos.
