Date field limitating

I need to limit date selection to specific days of the week only. I know there is an option to do this with jqueryui. There is also javascript that can be used to limit the date when HTML5 is used.

Is there any plan to include this ability in a future release? I would rather not have to maintain a hack of the code to allow this, but will if necessary.
