    Hi there,
I’ve got a strange situation over here: the dates in the calendar view are backwards! The week starts on sunday and goes from saturday to friday… et cetera. Not very convenient, I must admit πŸ˜‰
does anyone have a clue on how this could have happened? And – more importantly – how to fix it?
Thanks in advance for your reply!
    Best regards,
    Dennis

  • I have the same issue on two different websites. Despite the plugin update yesterday, it has not been solved. Please fix this :’)

I too have the same issue on multiple websites. The plugin update didn’t help me either.

    Hello Everyone,

I’m sorry you’re having trouble with the calendar. When you say the dates are backwards do you mean that the dates are going from right to left instead of from left to right, or do you mean that the calendar is starting on the wrong day of the week?

If you mean the calendar is starting on the wrong day of the week then go to the General Settings page of your blog. At the bottom of the page is a setting called Week Starts On. Change that to whatever day of the week you want the calendar to start on.

Hi! The calendar dates are suddenly going from right to left, instead of the usual left to right. I’ve emailed an print screen of this yesterday to the email address from your plugin page.

    Hi Zack,

Thanks for the quick response! I mean the dates are going from right to left instead of from left to right.

Thanks @natazzie and @bonannee. What language are you using the calendar in?

I am using the calendar in Dutch on 2 separate sites.

Thank you @natazzie. The latest plugin update should have specifically set the direction in Dutch to left to right. Do you have the 3.7.3 version? Is there any chance I could log into your blog and take a look? You could create a temporary user for me and then delete it when I’m done.

You can send the username and password to [email protected]

I’m also using it in Dutch

    Hi @zgrossbart ,

yes, I’ve updated the plugin yesterday but unfortunately it did not change anything. I thought it might conflict with Jetpack but disabling that did not make a difference either. I will send you a user login. Thanks!

Thank you very much @natazzie for helping me debug this. Here’s what was going on.

The calendar supports Hebrew which is a right to left language instead of left to right. It supports other language directions by allowing each translation bundle to specify a translated string for the value ltr. The bundle can set that value to either ltr or rtl. For a reason that I don’t understand that value in Dutch was coming out as lnr instead of ltr.

I don’t know why, but this was only happening on your blog and not on my test blog. Even if I set it to Dutch.

However, I can fix this by changing the logic of how we evaluate this value.

I’ve just put out a new release 3.7.4. This should solve the problem. Can you please try it out and let me know if it fixes the issue for you.

Thank you very much for the help tracking this down.

Thanks! It seems like the 3.7.4 update has fixed the issue! (on desktop that is; when I logged in using Safari on my iPhone I only see the days from Monday to Sunday).

Just a thought: I am using a translate plugin on my blog; would anything change if I would remove the Hebrew language package from the translations in in the Editorial Calendar plugin?

I’m glad the update fixed it on your desktop. Can you please tell me more about what’s happening on your phone.

I don’t think that removing Hebrew would change this issue. I am wondering if the translation plugin is what changed the ltr string to lnr. Either way, I’m glad it is fixed.

Just wanna say: “Thank you Zack for this great & useful plugin !!!”

We are a big fan of ‘Editorial Calendar’.

    Greg

I’m glad things are working for everyone. I’m going to mark this issue as resolved.
