I just found through Google webmaster tools that in my sitemaps all my imported pages have published date 1970 hence google shows errors for all sitemap pages. I overcame it with a sql query but should it have done this?

This issue has been caused due to the wrong format of post date in your CSV. Kindly mention the post date as YYYY-MM-DD HH:MM format in your CSV. Hope this will fix your issue.
