Deactivating pathInfo permalinks.

    Hi,

    In wordpress permalink documents, it is mentioned that to activate “pathinfo” permalinks the URL should start with /index.php but how can I deactivate pathinfo permalinks?? I tried all methods, none of them are working.

    1)dashboard-> setting-> changed permalink setting by removing index.php.
    2) added/ edited/ changed .htaccess file.
    3) changed rewrite mod
    4) set Alloverride all
    5)enabled optiosymlink

    eventhough it’s not working. Can anybody guide me on this please?
