Hi,
Most probably the issue is caused as the permalinks are not active on your host. For that reason all customised assets urls are loading 404 error pages which eats the server resources.
So check your server rewrites if active.
The plugin does not use much server resources, you shouldn’t notice a difference in terms of page speed at all.
Once deactivated, everything will reverts to how it was previously, as it does not change anything on the files or the database. All changes are applied on the fly, before the server send out the html buffering.
Let me know if that fixed the issue for you.
Thanks
Thank you for your reply
I need to check with my host, but since you mentioned it, mywebsite.com/wp-includes is still accessible and it shows the Forbidden page, and when I access mywebsite.com/systemfiles (which is supposed to be wp-includes) it shows 404 page.
Moreover, when I access mywebsite.com/wp-admin or the new path of admin access mywebsite.com/secret, in both cases it takes me to the admin login page (this works differently than wp-includes and both are wrong).
Does this information let you suspect anything further?
Please pardon my lack of knowledge in some technical details.
Thank you again
Hello again,
I checked with the host and the server rewrites is active, and they don’t recommend disabling them, any advice from your end?

Hi,
Try to reset all plugin options and start over. This time customize just the WP Hide > Rewrites > WP-Includes or WP Hide > Rewrites > WP-Content. Don’t block the default at that time. Further, clear the site caches and check the front site, if the instances are updated within your outputted site HTML. Also, see if there are any 404 errors for the assets using the new slug.
Thanks
Hello
This plugin is working just perfectly… I I’ve disabled another plugin writing to .htaccess file and all works fine now.
Thank you for this great plugin and outstanding support.
I am hitting the 5 stars for sure!
