    Kind regards.

It’s more of a complaint than a support post, because I know there’s no solution.

I don’t understand why PayPal no longer allows credit card payments without an account! I’ve seen in other forums that it’s a PayPal issue, not the plugin, etc. But when you write to PayPal support, they swear that my account can accept credit card payments without a PayPal account. They schedule calls that arrive late, only to tell me they’re going to send me an integration document to pass on to my “developer,” a document that looks like it’s from the year 2000, outdated, and very uninformative.

About three months ago, I set up my site with WooCommerce. The plugin allowed me to accept credit card payments simply, easily, and simply by selecting that option in the Classic checkout, a payment form would appear, and that was it, something functional!

A few weeks ago, that stopped working. The simple form no longer opened, but instead took me to a modal where a payment form appeared, but at the end it forced me to create a PayPal account.

And with today’s update, it no longer even displays that form; now it directly takes you to log in with PayPal or create an account.

Now I have a question: why does it work if I set up a card payment form directly in PayPal and insert it into my website?

It actually works very poorly, since there are a lot of people who don’t trust PayPal with their information and refuse to create an account to make a simple card payment.

    Hello @yuliandesign

Unfortunately, we as plugin developers don’t have control over PayPal’s internal policies regarding guest checkout eligibility. PayPal independently decides when a customer can pay without creating an account, based on various factors.

However, there is one setting you can try to adjust in your PayPal account to potentially allow more users to check out without a PayPal account. You can find it here:
Account Settings > Website payments > Website preferences > PayPal account optional, check this function.

Apart from this, the most reliable solution we currently offer is the Advanced Card Processing option (hosted fields). This functionality provides a seamless credit card checkout without requiring customers to create a PayPal account. You can learn more about this feature here:
    https://woocommerce.com/document/woocommerce-paypal-payments/#paypal-card-processing-acdc

I hope this provides clarity and helps resolve your issue. Please let me know if there’s anything else I can assist you with.

    Kind Regards,

    Krystian

In the end, it was a plugin issue, as it’s not compatible with the Classic checkout that WooCommerce configures by default. I changed it to a Short code and the form reappeared. What surprises me is that you don’t know this!

    Hello @yuliandesign

I changed it to a Short code and the form reappeared. What surprises me is that you don’t know this!

We’ll take note of this and pass it along internally. So far, I’m unable to reproduce this; for me, the modal with card fields appears on both ‘classic checkout’ and on the shortcode.

    Kind Regards,
    Krystian
