    Dear BackWPup team,

I created a backup of the files and the plugins with the free version and receive the notification “Please enter your decryption key to decrypt your backup.” The backup was not set as encrypted. I am using BackWPup version 5.0.9 and WordPress Version 6.7.2. Is there a solution for this? Thank you for your reply.

    Best regards,

    Hi,

    Thank you for reaching out!

The message asking for a decryption key typically appears when the wrong file is uploaded during the restore process. Please ensure that you’re uploading the correct ZIP file itself — not a folder or contents extracted from it. You can refer to this example for clarification:

If you’re certain you’re uploading the right file and the issue persists, please don’t hesitate to reach out to us directly so we can help investigate further.

    Best regards,
    The BackWPup Team
