• In today’s world of more robust and more feature rich plugins, don’t we think it’s time to change the default plugin size from 2MB to something more friendly?

    I’m trying to download a plugin which is over 2MB and of course, I keep getting the error “The uploaded file exceeds the upload_max_filesize directive in php.ini.”

    Isn’t it time to VISIT this and update it too?

    I totally agree with you. 2MB is just not realistic, same with max_post_size. The default values are just way too small.

    Isn’t it time to VISIT this and update it too?

    However… those settings are controlled by your host’s php.ini settings and are not something that the WordPress can revisit or change so there’s not really anything to recommend. That’s not even covered in this page.

    Thanks Jan, I use GoDaddy and have had a conversation with them before about this. Seems like there is no php.ini in my file manager. They had to make some changes with the .htaccess file, and after they finished we still had issues. We finally just uploaded in file manager and extracted.

    But the plugin I am attempting to upload “DroidPress” won’t properly extract and automatically be recognized in WordPress as a plugin. So having some difficulty with this new beta version they have…
